Fireplace looked exactly as in the brochure and the build quality is good. Unfortunately, the mantle was damaged at time of delivery, but was taken back and replaced within a matter of days,

Brilliant service, on time delivery, beautiful fireplace and as described. Unfortunately we are unable to comment on the actual look of the fireplace in situ and its working ability as we are yet to find somebody to install it as a solid fuel fire!!

Fireplace is a triumph; it looks fantastic. I don't think the photos on the website do it justice. I had it installed as a solid fuel appliance and looking forward to trying it for the first time this weekend!

The fireplaces looks nice; though for such a small bedroom fireplace the hearth was very deep. The service was good, but it took some time to arrange a delivery.

Delivery arrived as scheduled, no problems. Polite and easy service all round whenever any contact was made. Fireplace and surround are now in. Some installation notes or direction on fitting the surround would have been useful.

The Lytton Bedford fireplace package looks fantastic. I can't fault the quality and the whole (very heavy) order was delivered by the most pleasant of gents!

The on-line guidance how to choose, measure up was straight forward. Good customer care. delivery date and time went to plan. But no screws were included in the package. I'm sure that was an oversight?

Thanks for the feedback Wisome. I am afraid we do not supply the screws for fitting to the wall as the best screws and plugs for the job should be supplied by the installer who would be on site to see what to use.

The fireplace is beautiful and a very good price. I received outstanding service from Dean, he was very helpful with arranging my delivery on a specific day. The delivery driver was also very helpful and polite.

Although my delivery was slightly later than expected (only a couple of days) I was kept well informed and am very pleased with the fireplace now that its installed, it looks lovely and the online fitting instructions were really clear.

My only issue was there are no brackets supplied for fixing the surround to the wall and a guide to installing would be helpful, but overall no hesitation in recommending this fireplace or Victorian Fireplaces.

I ordered this with marble surrounds, which was surprisingly nice. it may not seen conventional as I heard from my high street dealer commenting on my idea "interesting combination". But we are pleased with our choice as it really finished the room off. I think marble surrounds work much better than wood.

We collected the fireplace ourself. The customer service was immaculate. They had arranged our fireplace in two days despite our custom changes to the standard order.

We absolutely love our new fireplace, and are really impressed with the Magiflame insert - give off a lot of heat and looks brilliant, and without the need for a flue was perfect for us. Took a bit of time for all of the parts to arrive, and some communication about what was happening would have been useful (i needed to keep chasing for some things), but ultimately got a great fireplace, and really pleased.

The fireplace is of excellent quality and was easy to install, the lounge looks like something out of the house and garden magazine.

I highly recommend Victorian Fireplaces. I ordered a Jubilee Highlight with a Brompton Limestone Mantel. The price was very keen, the quality was great. The Fireplace was delivered within 5 minutes of the alloted time, very good considering the 200 mile distance. The Fireplace was delivered into the room and each item was unwrapped and examined prior to the delivery man departing. All my questions regarding preparation for installation were answered in a friendly manner. Great company that delivers on its promises, and a great product. Carol.

My fireplace arrived on time -- everything in good condition and it looks beautiful.

Very pleased with our purchase. The fire, the mantlepiece and the hearth are all excellent quality. The delivery man was friendly and helpful. After sale queries were responded to in a pleasant and helpful manner. Only problem - do check if you need a push-in or not. We purchased one and found it was actually hidden behind the fire. Would be good to have purchased marble adhesive at the same time. Our B and Q don't sell it and we had to order some on-line. Overall, though, pleased and would recommend.

Thank you Terri for the feedback. Pushin-ins are an optional item and not required however the do provide a much better finish to a fireplace. Apologies for not having the marble glue available to purchase online. We do now offer the marble glue as a separate item which can be purchased here.

Fireplace was delivered quickly and on time - we had to change the time and this was no problem. The fireplace was well packed too. Looking forward to seeing it installed.

Bought the jubilee limestone fireplace and I am very happy with Victorian fireplaces. Delivery has done very quickly and it didn't include the solid fuel kit ordered by me. The very next day they delivered it by special delivery. I've received an excellent quality service and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

The only hiccup was that you forgot the mantle piece part in the original delivery. I know that things can't be perfect all the time and you rectified the situation quickly so kudos to your team. I love the fireplace...cant wait to actually get it fitted! The mantle was not as dark as I expected which was slightly disappointing but I think it should look good anyway.

The fireplace surround and hearth are superb and top quality. We are delighted with the final result. Had a bit of trouble bonding brackets to the marble but that was more about me mixing the bonding material right - dont forget to order this. It wasn't clear to me on the website that a solid fuel kit was needed for the electric fire option but this was sorted out with one phonecall. The electric fire option is a bit pricey but the overall package justifies the total outlay for us. Overall highly recommended!

The surround was just the one we wanted and looks great. I had a bit of fun fitting it using the concealed fixings which I had to order seperately (I thought these came with the surround) but it completes the setting of the room it now resides in.

Recently bought a this fireplace for our new house. Decorative option chosen. Absolutely delighted with the product. Delivered ahead of schedule and very easy to fit. Superb service from start to finish. The product had a minor problem but it was sorted out without a quibble. It was also impressive that VF deliver items themselves, this showed in the level of care and fulfilment of delivery that you would not get from a courier. Yes I was delighted with the customer service (thanks Dean). To be honest I've not had it installed yet, but I'm sure it will work fine. I went for a 48 inch granite hearth, Highlighted Limerick Cast Iron Insert (definitely worth paying the few quid extra to get it highlighted) and the Brompton Surround. I had the surround in Pine rather than oak as it was a lot cheaper, but they stained it really evenly and it looks superb! I went to collect it all in person, they didn't have a gas fire in but sent it two days later free of charge when the had one in. All in all I'm very happy with the service the quality but perhaps most importantly the cost! I've seen similar packages for about double the price :-)

I'm very pleased with the purchase that I made from Victorian Fireplaces. I bought a Jubilee Brompton which looks great and has improved the look of my living room a lot. Its value for money and it arrived on time.

I am so pleased with my purchase! I bought two cast iron combination Edwardian fireplaces. I had a call the day I ordered them just to make sure that I had not made a mistake in ordering two and to let me know what to expect in terms of timescales for delivery, which I thought was good customer service. One is unpackaged and installed. One to go. The online fitting instructions were really helpful. What would be fantastic would be step by step photos for fitting or even DVD? The delivery man was great. He was on time and brought the fireplaces into the front room rather than leaving them in the hall. (Good job my husband was at home though because there is no way I could have helped lift). He also gave me the first names of two people at the company that I could call if I got stuck with fitting - which was reassuring. The service and product are both great and I have been recommending you to my friends already. When we're all plastered and decorated and we have a roaring fire going, I'll email you a photo! Mary

I ordered the Limerick Bedford fireplace on the Sunday and I took delivery on the Thursday. Very fast and efficient. The fireplace was really well packaged and the delivery driver was very friendly. The quality of the fireplace is exceptional. On installing the fire we discoved that the chimney flap was missing. I contacted customer services who were very helpful and one was sent out to me straight away. It's not often that you come across great customer service but this was certainly one of those occassions!!

Excellent product as described on the website and all delivered on time by a very helpful driver. Only issue i had installing was the fact i have no limestone glue! Maybe a little more infomation on the order page to point out this was required?? All in all, extremely happy with the purchase and the service i received.

I ordered the Pembroke polished cast iron combination for solid fuel, with granite hearth. The product is available from other sources, but was substantially cheaper from Victorian Fireplaces, particularly when considering the free delivery. The only slight issue was that I wasn't made aware very quickly that they were awaiting an incoming delivery of my product, but the overall service was fine. And the product is simply fantastic, and has made our house a home. Highly recommended!

we have been very pleased with our fire & service offered by victorian fireplaces. we did have a little hiccup at begining due to misunderstanding on deliveray date, but we were more than pleased with the prompt way it was dealt with and all was well and delivered at the right time. we liked the personal touch and when i had to make a phone call to the company, we were dealt with in a professional mannner. the quality of the fireplace is excellent and the price much lower than other places we looked at. all in all we would highly recommend victorian fireplaces and their products.

We bought the Ashbourne Integra with a stone surround and we got the best of both worlds. Fantastic looking fire and efficient too. I purchased a narrow Darwin pine surround and granite back panel and hearth for my 1980s semi and am very pleased with it. The style is unfussy and blends in well with the more modern surroundings whilst still appearing solid and of good quality. I went to the showroom to purchase it and everyone I dealt with during the purchase and delivery was efficient, friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

We now have the fire up and running, was a bit worried at first as it was much smaller than our original fireplace, but it is great throws out just as much heat due to the grate depth and draws really well, also uses less fuel for same heat.

I purchased the bedford prince as i am doing my house up from scratch, i have literaly re-done the whole house with a modern look whilst still maintaining period features. I was therefore after a fire that looked not only modern and classy but at the same time had a period look to it. The bedford prince fitted the bill perfectly for me, it seriously is as good, if not better than the picture shows. It's absouloutly stunning and is now the main attraction in my house. The quality of the fireplace is second to none and the family feel to the service made it a really enjoyable purchasing experiance. At first you may be put off by the price but, when it arrives you won't for one minute feel that you havn't got your moneys worth, its worth every penny. A highly recommended fireplace.

I can thoroughly recommend both the fire and the service provided by Victorianfireplaces.com. Being initially wary about ordering 'on-line', I was reassured by the response I received to my telephone enquiries and the flexibility in arranging a delivery date to suit me. The fire was delivered on time, in very good order - carefully packaged with no parts missing. You get the whole package - everything you need - and don't need to worry about additional extras or extra costs. The fireplace itself is wonderful (and the granite hearth is beautiful!). I was concerned that the small grate (smaller than my previous fire) would be a problem but that isn't the case. The grate is small but deep, holds quite a lot of fuel and kicks out a great deal of heat. I especially like the fact that the flue can be closed when the fire is not in use to reduce draught. The design of the fireplace means that ash and small fuel falls through the bars on the front of the fire but this is a very minor problem - easily swept up and doesn't damage the granite hearth (I pull my ash tray out slightly to collect this). I resisted submitting a review too early - I wanted to ensure I'd thoroughly checked out the product. I have, and I'm thrilled! (And I've used solid fuel open fires for almost 50 years.) I would recommend both the product and company without hesitation. If you have any doubts, I would encourage you to telephone to ask questions. I did that and was pleased to get a real person who knew about the products! [Review typed on laptop, sitting in front on glowing fire!]

loved the tiles, always ensure you have enough space in the side of your fireplace to fully show all the tiles.We didnt and had to cut the middle one into 3 lenghtways and use the plain pieces at the top and bottom. Still looks good just not as good.but loved them to much to return them.

We bought this fireplace to go into a newly refurbished victorian semi. The chimney breast was quite narrow so we were restricted on the choice of fireplaces we could have. We wanted a traditional solid fuel fireplace and came across this product. It fits in perfectly with our home and was very easy to install. The 3D diagrams provided which show the dimensions are really useful, making it easy to check that the fireplace would fit our chimney, even for someone who has never had to order one before! We chose to order the mantel in untreated pine and paint it ourselves, and it looks beautiful with an ivory finish. The service we received was also 5*, thank you.

My Dublin Reeded Oak fireplace package arrived today as promised and I am delighted with the quality of the mantlepiece in particular. I saw the fireplace online and struggled to find anything of a similar style to match the quality and price in any local showroom here in Aberdeen. I am glad I took the plunge of ordering online without having viewed in person and pleased that the online gallery pictures are an accurate reflection of the product. Even allowing for the £98 delivery charge and the additional £200 paid for oak rather than pine the package price remained highly competitive, effectively inbeatable. Now just for fitting, which takes place next week. I can't wait to see the finished effect which shouldl reinstate a proper focal point to a living room in my Victorian flat. Our fireplace looks beutiful in situ. We brought it in one of your sales, I think it was exellent value for good quality. It works very well and heats our large sitting room quickly. It is hard to know how efficant it is as we replaced our old backboiler with a new condensing boiler at the same time but even with the raises in engery cost our bills haven't increased. The gas fitter liked the racheted tiling system, much easier than other systems. The only thing that was a bit complicated was the payment; waiting for phone calls seemed a little old fashioned. In summery we are glad we brought this fire place. Exellent job, well done!

I asked for a custom built version of this surround and the level of service and attention to detail I received was superb. The Fireplace was EXACTLY as I expected and built to my very specific requirements. Service was excellent and I was kept up-to-date of progress at all times. We decided to purchase this fireplace late last Saturday night and by the following day, we received a phone call to say that the fireplace would be delivered on the Monday. Given that we stay between Aberdeen and Inverness and the fireplace was delivered at 9.30am on the Monday morning, we thought the service was exceptional and we couldnt believe it was coming so soon! We are really pleased with the fireplace. It is what we expected and it is of a good quality. We had previously scoured shops locally but didnt find anything as good quality as this one and it was also good value for money.
