Deliveries
Just a little footnote to the last post,
Eddie has just arrived in Lossiemouth, and guess what we have just sold a Kingston Carrara marble fireplace set in Plymouth, It always amazes my the distance we travel with our fireplaces and these two customers couldn’t be further apart I just did a quick google distance check 662 miles between them. Oh well, just a bit of usless information.
Big Delivery
Yesterday (22nd September) we delivered eleven fireplaces to one customer in Kent, a very big delivery in deed its a good job we have large Mercedes sprinter vans for our deliveries, our customer was delighted with all the fireplaces especially when he only ordered them ten days ago. The fireplaces comprised of three Gloucester fireplaces with Chiswick mantels in Carrara marble, five Regal fireplaces with small roundel mantels, Henley arch fireplace with a Roundel mantel, and finally two Bolton fireplaces, all fireplaces had Granite hearths slabbed and split for solid fuel fires. Our customer is very pleased with the fireplaces and fitting of them has started today.
New Van on Order
I have just ordered a new van today (14/08/09) factory order for a Mercedes sprinter Van 313 cdi, with some nice little extras in it, and with the new economy engine it looks like it should drive well. Its to replace Eddies old sprinter van which is two and a half years old not old but with 175,000 miles on the clock so far! its looking a bit tiered. Eddies old van will be put to pasture and just used for local fireplace deliveries in and around Lincolnshire. Now what about our old Transit van it does look small compared to our Mercedes sprinter vans, well the fate of it isn’t decided yet.
So our replacement van is on order and should come the first week in November. We will be giving it a new paint job and decorating it with some lovely fireplaces. I will keep you posted on the fireplaces that will go on the side of the van some of our best sellers no doubt.
So in November keep a good look out for your new fireplace delivery, possibly in Eddies new van.
Fireplace Deliveries

Eddie our van driver has been back from his accident (crushed hand) a week now. He is fully up to steam and raring to go. So while he is unloading your chosen fireplace if you would like to make him a cup of tea, he will tell you all about is little mishap, but don’t worry he won’t stay to long – he has a lot to do.
Fireplace Delivery
About Us Fireplace Deliveries If you have ever read our about us section on our web pages, you might be forgiven for thinking does he really still do that any more – or is he sat behind a desk with his feet up. Well for the past nine weeks our regular van driver Eddie has been off work with a crushed hand, he was carrying a very large cast iron combination fireplace with another person and unfortunately fell, with the fireplace landing on his hand. He went to hospital and to cut a long story short he had an operation on his hand, and had some metal screws through his hand to hold his little finger back on. he is now back on the road to recovery and should be back in his van which I know he his missing. I hope! Any way back to the story. Over the last nine weeks I have been delivering all our fireplace deliveries, some of our customers might recognize me from when they come into the showroom to buy a fireplace. It is very interesting to see our end result and see where our fireplaces end up, and the type of house’s that they start their new life in. To give you an idea of my commitment to our delivery service and the type of deliveries we do here at Victorian fireplaces.
