New Post at Victorian Fireplaces
New post at Victorian fireplaces
Its such a relief now all the snow and ice has gone from the roads it did cause a few problems on our deliveries but we over came them.
We have had a few changes in our office over the Christmas break and the start of the new year. Dean has joined us in the office, his back ground is as a Mantel maker in the Factory of Knapp woodworking our sister company which makes all our wooden Mantels. His roll will be to keep an eye on all our sales processing and customer relations. So If you have a problem just email Dean and he can sort it out straight away. Dean will also be trained into the Arts of our websites and help Dan in the creation and running of our fireplace websites, which you may not be aware are all created in house by Dan, and are the envy of the fireplace trade.
Over the next few weeks I will post more interesting articles about fireplaces and some more unusual fireplace articles, so keep an eye out on this blog you will see it first here.
It’s Live, Live I tell you!
After weeks of work preparing our new website we have finally arrived at the point where it can be released it in all its glory! We have spent a considerable amount of time creating features to enhance your visit to our website, making it easier to look at and easier to use with some really good functions. This has already sparked interest and resulted in orders within an hour of going live!
Below I have made a short list of just a couple of new enhancements which will make your lives easier.
What’s New
All the information you can handle
Buying a fireplace is a complicated process which can be frustrating if you can’t get the information you need when you want it, so one of key new features is having all the product information on one page.
We understand from your feedback that some people were having trouble finding dimensions due to them being in a separate tab and information like colour swatches and reviews were on a different page which could be confusing. So your generous feedback led us to the new product pages which will be further enhanced as the new website develops.

Better Search and Result Filters
Being able to search for something on a website is a vital function and our old website only allowed you to search the product names but now every word on our website is indexed in our search results which will lead to better results.
One problem with more results though is it can mean more to look though and although the search results are accurate you may want to filter them down.
A key feature of the new website is being able to filter your search results by price and categories. So if you have a budget in mind you can find all the fireplaces we sell within your budget very easily.
Keep track of what you’re looking at
Ever go though a website looking at lots of different things and getting lost? You know what it looks like but just can’t remember the name of the fireplace you saw.
Well now you can keep track of what you have looked at with the “recently viewed” box in the left column. This will let you know what the last 10 products were you looked at so no more straining your brain remembering the name and finding it again.
Get down and dirty with detail
Probably one of our coolest new features is the new images viewer. As well as being able to view a great big picture by clicking on an image you can now hover your mouse of parts of a picture to see a close up of the fireplace and all its beautiful detail.

These are just a few of the new features available on our website which is constantly being enhanced every day to improve your experience. We also have a few very exciting new features which will be coming shortly, so keep your eyes peeled.
New Website
Our new fireplace website will be going live later today, (look out for the white border) so please be patient if we have a few hiccup’s over the next few days it has been fully tested over the last few days but problems always occur when you least expect them.
I would like to know your comments about the new site when it goes live so if you could email me I would most appreciate it. Thanks.
