Large Fireplaces

We had a customer ring up today and asked if we can supply a very large fireplace for his hall, in a Georgian style with a bit of arts and crafts design in it!! well this large fireplace might just fit the bill. Our Large Adam fireplace mantel is the largest fireplace we make at Victorian fireplaces in its standard form it is 60 or 66 inches wide but can be made to suit your own specifications. Truly a stunning very large fireplace all carvings are in solid pine and hand carved, no MDF or veneer here. A real chimney piece.

Wax for Pine Mantel’s

A customer asked today which wax is use on Knapp woodworking’s pine mantels, well the wax is called Fiddes and the colour is called Stripped pine, there is another manufacturer Brixax and the colour for this one is called P7. either of these two waxes will match in perfectly. If you need to apply some wax to an area of your mantel, you first apply the wax with a cloth wait for a couple of minutes and then with a clean brush, brush the area briskly to remove any fragments of wax, then with a lint free cloth buff the area to a lovely shine. The more you buff the more the shine, best not to have it to shiny.

Celtic Combination fireplace

The Celtic combination fireplace was our best selling fireplace for last week, at just 36 inches wide (mantel) it is an ideal fireplace for a smaller room. If you think this fireplace is too small though the Pembroke combination is available with a 48 inch shelf.  It has quite a big burning area for its size at 16 inches wide and is available black, highlighted or my favourite fully polished. All fire options are available with this fireplace (solid fuel, gas and electric). Our best selling mantel last week was the Large carved mantel in Oak at 54 inches wide, a lovely looking  typical victorian mantel.

It looks like the Belfast fireplace might just have the edge this week.
