The Brompton wooden surround is exclusively handmade in England by Knapp woodworking and made from 100% solid wood. Available with a varierty of finishes.

Yes I was delighted with the customer service (thanks Dean). To be honest I've not had it installed yet, but I'm sure it will work fine. I went for a 48 inch granite hearth, Highlighted Limerick Cast Iron Insert (definitely worth paying the few quid extra to get it highlighted) and the Brompton Surround. I had the surround in Pine rather than oak as it was a lot cheaper, but they stained it really evenly and it looks superb! I went to collect it all in person, they didn't have a gas fire in but sent it two days later free of charge when the had one in. All in all I'm very happy with the service the quality but perhaps most importantly the cost! I've seen similar packages for about double the price :-)
